It conducted its first entrance examination in July 2006 and classes began in September. Prof G.I.S Sandhu joined as the registrar. The Library at the RGNUL has acquired a collection of over 20000 Volumes covering a wide range of general and special subjects consisting of text books, reference books, volumes of journals, reports etc. apart from the current legal periodicals. The RGNUL Library at present subscribes 45 Law Journals and about 25 magazines.
