This Moot endeavours to promote advocacy skills of undergraduate students in two crucial areas of Law - Arbitration Law, which is one of the most important forms of international dispute resolution; and Commercial Law, which is essential to the armoury of any budding lawyer. We seek to achieve this by introducing students of law to the practice of arbitration. By arguing before an Arbitral Tribunal, they learn not only the conduct of arbitration proceedings, but also get acquainted with the merits of arbitration as a means of dispute-resolution. To this end, we attempt to provide these students an exposure to the best possible institutions in the field.

Since its inception 4 years ago, the moot has grown rapidly, setting new standards in terms of the complexity of issues involved, the quality of teams, and most importantly, in terms of the expert arbitrators, who are drawn from the best of the academia, bar and bench including a former Chief Justice of India as well as sitting judges of various High Courts. Last year in 2011, 28 colleges participated in the competition.
