National Law Institute University (NLIU) Bhopal was established in 1998 by an enactment of the State Legislature of Madhya Pradesh in 1997.

Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. The University is situated in eco-friendly surroundings on Bhadbhada Road at the outskirts of Bhopal near the Kerwan Dam, according to the college website.<ref>NLIU website - About Us</ref> "The campus is surrounded with hills and lush greenery and the city is easily accessible.
