The MPL tracks the progress of Indian law schools over more than 30 national and international moot court competitions. The MPL 4 is currently in progress, sponsored by Herbert Smith Freehills.

History

The Legally India Mooting Premier League (MPL) was started in 2009 by Legally India and GNLU Gandhinagar final year student Vinay Mishra.

The winner of the 2009-10 MPL sponsored by Clifford Chance was Nalsar Hyderabad, followed by NLSIU Bangalore and NUJS Kolkata.

The second season of the MPL, sponsored by Allen & Overy, started in September 2010 and was won by Nalsar again, followed by the third MPL season in 2011 where NLSIU Bangalore finished in the top spot.

The MPL 4, sponsored by Herbert Smith Freehills, was won by NLSIU Bangalore in 2013.

The MPL 5, which is also sponsored by Herbert Smith Freehills, is currently underway.
