* ''Pro Bono Enviro'' National Moot Court Competition (March-April, 2011)- organised by School of Excellence in Law, Chennai since 2008, Pro Bono has seen steady increase in its participation over the years. The first edition was won by RMLNLU followed by HNLU (2009) and Nalsar (2010). In the 2010 edition 36 National teams including almost all the NLUs, ILS, Symbiosis, CLC and GLC, Mumbai participated. The level of judging is quite good with stalwarts like David Ambrose, V. Imbavijayan (Arbitrator, Vis - Vienna for the past 5 years), SC Judges, CJ of the Madras HC (A.P. Shah J. presided over the bench when he was the CJ at Madras HC) and even few lawyers from the US were on the bench. The problems for the first two editions were based on International Environmental Law and could be compared to Stetson Compromis (I have participated in both the competitions). I feel this competition could be easily compared to Tankha, Surana Tech, KLA, Bodhraj Shawney, ULC Bangalore. It deserves a place here.[http://www.hindu.com/2010/03/21/stories/2010032155560700.htm The Hindu] [http://www.hindu.com/2008/04/05/stories/2008040559450400.htm The Hindu]Text to be deleted or moved to separate page?

*S. Govind Swaminadhan Memorial National Moot Court Competition - Dr Ambedkar Government Law College, Chennai (GLC Chennai): I participated in this moot this April. It was the 1st edition and I can confidently say that it was one of the best national moots held last season. I am in the MCS of my college. So, I have a fair idea of many moots that happen. Having read quite a lot of problems last year, I would say this was the most interesting. It consisted of three cases (problems) between the same parties, the first was an arbitration proceedings, second and third ones (in appeal) were Court proceedings in intervention of the arbitration proceedings. Other arrangements including judging were good too. The rules were the most fair and transparent I have seen in any national moot till now. This moot should be in the same list as other top national moots. '''Any citation or extra evidence for quality of this moot that we can get here? Do others agree or have been to this moot? Would be great to use usernames for edits in future, if possible. [[User:Kianganz]]'''

Mooting competitions that were included in the 2009-10 MPL

Tier 1 moots

Suggested tier 1 additions for 2010-11 MPL

  • ...Stetson World Finals- Since it has India qualification rounds , so it becomes as challenging as Manfred or Jessup to reach the World Stage.
  • Willem C. Vis (East)- Since Manfred is in tier-I, Vis East seems to be gaining better recognition and participation from around the world then Manfred. Further it seems to be catching up fast with Vienna as well. So it makes sense to put both the Vis together in 1 category- Either Tier I or II as the case maybe.
  • Monroe.E.Price Moot Court Competition,World Finals

Tier 2 moots

Suggested tier 2 additions for 2010-11 MPL
