Jindal Global Law School
The Jindal Global Law School, the first school of O. P. Jindal Global University, is based in Sonipat, Haryana, India.
Background
O.P. Jindal Global University is a non-profit university established by the Haryana Private Universities (Second Amendment) Act, 2009 at Sonipat, Haryana (NCR of Delhi). JGU and JGLS are recognised by the Bar Council of India (BCI). The University Grants Commission (UGC) has notified JGU as a private university established by the state legislature of Haryana.
History
The University was established in January 2009 under the Haryana Private Universities (Second Amendment) Act. The first academic session of the JGLS commenced in September 2009. O. P. Jindal Global University and Jindal Global Law School are recognised by the Bar Council of India (BCI) and University Grants Commission (UGC). The admission test (LSAT—India) by Law School Admission Council, USA conducted by Pearson VUE, through its affiliate in India for selection of students for admission to the JGLS, is approved by the Government of Haryana.

Admissions
Students for admission to the five year B.A. LL.B. (Hons.), three year LL.B. and two year LL.M. programmes at JGLS will be selected on merit, i.e. their performance in the Law School Admission Test—India (LSAT—India). LSAT—India is an entrance test designed by the Law School Admission Council (LSAC), USA and is conducted by Pearson VUE, LSAC’s affiliate in India. The test will be in a multiple choice format and will cover logical reasoning, analytical reasoning and reading comprehension.
Courses
In the academic year 2010-11, JGLS offers a five year B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) programme; and a three year LL.B. programme. JGLS is also offering a specially designed two year LL.M. programme with three options for specialisation for law graduates, corporate lawyers, legal practitioners, civil servants, diplomats and judges.
