Finsec was established in July 2010 as a financial sector boutique law firm which assists in capital raising, takeovers of listed companies, banking, regulatory advice and litigation in the financial market space.
The firm brings the extensive experience of its founder Sandeep Parekh, former head of legal affairs and enforcement departments of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI). Sandeep is a visiting faculty at the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad and has worked for a law firm in Delhi, Mumbai and before that for Wilmer Hale, a law firm in Washington, D.C. Sandeep has obtained an LL.M. (Securities and Financial Regulations) degree from Georgetown University and an LL.B. degree from Delhi University. He is admitted to practice law in New York and is a member of Mensa. He is a World Economic Forum “Young Global Leader”. and has been invited to speak at Davos. He has published an op-ed in the Financial Times is a columnist in the Economic Times and has been quoted in the WSJ, Economist and CNBC. He has been chair and member of various SEBI and RBI committees.
The firm is backed by senior advisor and external consultant to the firm, K D Zacharias, former legal head of RBI who provides his expertise and advice in the banking and non-banking financial space.
