Background

School of Law, Christ University (SLCU), Bangalore, is a part of Christ University, Bangalore, which was founded and is administered by Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI). CMI, the first indigenous Catholic religious congregation of India with a membership of 2000, renders its service to humanity in educational, social, healthcare and other activities. The parent university, a premier educational institution, is an academic fraternity of individuals dedicated to the motto of excellence and service and already has a proven history of success in the field of education. Though it is a minority institution, Christ University maintains a secular in outlook towards education. Students of all castes, religions, creeds and languages are encouraged to be a part of this temple of learning.

Christ University, formerly Christ College had the rare distinction of being the first institution in Karnataka to be accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), UGC and reaccredited with an A+ in 2005 for quality education.In four decades, The Institution has become the most preferred educational institution in the city of Bangalore.

Computer Labs All administrative works of the university are computerised. The four computer labs on campus are equipped with the latest Intel microprocessor-based computers. The labs have systems with the latest configurations connected to the latest servers. Laser Printers, Inkjet Printers, Digitiser, LP 735 Data Projector, Scanner, Dot Matrix Printers and other peripherals are connected to the network.

Internet Lab To integrate Information System Technology into the present curriculum, the university is one of the first educational institutions to be able to boast of Internet connectivity through 1024 KBS Primus and Cisco Router with 1MBPS Internet leased line connecting its students to the world. The faculty and the students are encouraged and to surf the net free of cost. All the departments are connected through the Internet, allowing for easier access to information.
