Anand and Anand was established in 1979 and is among the largest practices specializing in Intellectual Property laws in India and is ranked among the Top Tier Intellectual Property Law Firms in Asia, providing end-to-end legal solutions covering all cross-sections of Intellectual Property and allied areas.
Born of a pioneering parent firm that had branches spanning the cities of Lahore, Calcutta, Delhi and Amritsar in 1923, Anand and Anand was conceived to meet the challenges of an imminent new order in India.
The transition from a closed economy to a liberalized one came about in the early 1990s. With a futuristic vision the firm tapped into the change on the horizon in a country awakening to a heightened intellectual property environment and took the lead in making available from a single window multi-faceted legal services of a high quality.

History
The practice was established in 1979 in continuation of the practice established by late Roman P Anand. In the intial years the work at the firm was confined to trademarks with a substantial focus on textile marks. Later NK Anand joined the practice in 1954 and was a pre-eminent arguing counsel in intellectual property before the Delhi High Court. In 1962 the second son Raj Anand joned the practice and made a mark on the trademark prosecution side.
