Student placements for the last few years have been over 90% of the students applying for placement. Students from ILS Law College have, in successive batches also secured admission for masters in several well known international universities such as Oxford university, London School of Economics, NYU Law School, National University of Singapore etc making ILS the most favored destination for legal education in India.

No Admission Test. Admissions are only on the basis of Class XII marks. There are separate merit lists for Arts, Science and Commerce Students. Within each of these streams, there are separate merit lists for students within Maharashtra and students from outside Maharashtra. Cut offs are quite high, hovering near 90% for commerce and science students from outside Maharashtra.

===Hostels===
The Men's Hostel offers a total of 154 rooms, out of which 46 are double rooms and 108 are single occupancy rooms. The Mens Hostel is a relatively old styled structure comprising of three wings and is flanked by tennis courts on one side and overlooks the picturesque Law College hill on the other. Ample and free parking space is available for vehicles of residents. The students in the first two years of the Five Year Law course have to share their rooms with one other student. The toilets are to be shared by about twenty students on the average. Admission to hostel in successive years, is on the basis of merit, again with separate merit lists for students from within and outside Maharashtra, further with caste based reservation within the seats reserved for students from within Maharashtra. The Fees for students from Outside of Maharashtra is Rs. 30,000 p.a. Private internet service provides provide broadband net connectivity in the hostel rooms, which may be availed of, at the option of each resident. There are taps outside, which provide hot water produced by eco-friendly solar water heaters, which can be carried to the bathrooms for use.

The newly constructed Ladies' Hostel has a capacity to accomodate 67 students with boarding and lodging facilities. There is a dining hall, study room, sick room, washing machine and TV and newspaper room, along with 24-hour telephone facilities. The girls hostel has a curfew of 8:30 pm on weekdays and 9:30 pm on sundays. The fees for the girls hostel includes breakfast, lunch, tea & snacks and dinner. The fees is roughly 70,000 for girls from outside Maharashtra. Students from within Maharashtra have a discount of some 15% of that amount.

===Library and Reading Room===

Keeping in mind the importance of a well equipped library in a legal institution, the College gives top priority in funding allocations to the Library. Housed on a separate floor of the Saraswati building, the ILS library boasts of over 45,000 books and volumes of periodicals, journals and magazines and is rated as one of India's best libraries. It subscribes to over 95 Indian and foreign journals each year, including the All England Reports, The American Journal of Comparative Law, The Cambridge and Oxford Law Journals, etc. It also offers computer and photocopying facilities to its students as well as an online search catalog. The library has an inter-library loan network with the other prominent libraries in Pune. It is noteworthy that the Library is currently being expanded, with the addition of more floor space. The library is open on weekdays, and is open till 4 or 5 in the evening.

===IT Infrastructure===
The College facilities combine stately architecture and state-of-the-art resources. The campus stretches from the Sarswati Building which houses the library, the reading room, the administrative office, the conference hall and the Principal's office, besides the chambers of other faculty members and computer facilities for research students, to the Laxmi Building that houses over fifteen halls for regular lectures, the legal aid centre and an auditorium with a capacity of 400 people, used for guest lectures, college functions and presentations.Apart from the academic and administrative buildings, the College facilities ate further enriched with a huge residential complex for male students; the newly constructed Ladies Hostel, a gymnasium, a sprawling cricket and football ground, a sports pavilion housing the indoor sports facilities, tennis courts and a swimming pool. With all this and more the College facilities are unmatched by any other institution for legal studies in the country.

===Student Activities===

Moot courts are simulated court competitions which involve arguing on points of law by student 'advocates' before a bench of 'judges' usually comprised of members of the faculty and practicing advocates. Synonymous with the tradition of ILS Law College, moot courts were introduced by Principal J.R. Gharpure, in consonance with the movement started by Sir Lawrence Jenkins, the then Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court. The Bar Council of India has now included them in the curriculum. Mooting allows the students to practice the art of advocacy and the College lays emphasis on this activity to equip students for their future profession. To imbibe the 'mooting culture' in all the students, the College has three annual internal Moot Court Competitions.
The prestigious Raghavendra Phadnis Moot Court Competition is held every year in the month of August and is the basis for selecting the students to represent the College in the national and international moot court competitions. The N.V. Joshi Moot Court competition, held in the second term of the college, covers topics ranging from criminal law to torts. The Novice Moot Court is a recent addition to our repertoire of intramural moot courts. Every first year student is encouraged to participate in it and is ably guided by the senior students. Started by the Moot Court Society in 1997, this competition has become very popular with students and professors alike, as it has helped to discover the latent talent of the students.
Among the National Moot Court Competitions, the college has been a regular participant at competitions held by the Bar Council of India Trust; the Kerala Law Academy; University Law College, Bangalore; University Law College, Dharwad; Government Law College, Mumbai; Raj Anand Intellectual Property Moot Court Competition. Our students have also represented India at both Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition at Washington D.C., and the Stetson International Law Moot Court Competition, at Florida.
In 2002 ILS organized the first Surana & Surana International Moot Court Competition on Technology Laws. It attracted 16 teams from around the country. This event has become an annual feature on the mooting calendar. This year, it was held on 5-7th January 2007. 18 teams participated in the competition from all over India, as well as from Hong Kong. ILS Law College also hosts the Justice V.A. Naik All Maharashtra Inter Collegiate Moot Court Competition. This is a bi-annual competition in which teams from various leading Law colleges in Maharashtra take part. The Student Moot Court Society ensures smooth and co-ordinated running of all the intra-mural and extra-mural competitions giving exposure to mooting culture to as many students as possible. It also assists the selected students in their preparation to represent the College at the various national and international moot court competitions.Students of the College take part in various competitions such as Quiz, Debate, Dramatics, Creative writing, Mock UN Assembly etc. The last year saw the College winning various competitions in Pune as well as in other parts of the country. During the College Week held in December various inter class and individual competitions are also organized.

Keeping in mind the requirement for strong positive arguing skills in Law, debate competitions are crucial for law students. The College has a Debating Association for this purpose. The Association organizes various debating, elocution & declamation competitions. It also conducts selections for the various Inter College and University competitions. Students of ILS Law college, have been winning many prestigious debates including the All India Inter College Debate organized by the Cochin University and the H.H. Raja of Sangli's Gokhale Cup, Late Sanjay Deshmukh Debating Competition & Late Madhu Limaye Smriti Karandak Competition to name a few.
In Feb 2011, the ILS Debating Union organised a Parliamentary Debate competition in the name of Justice V. M. Tarkunde, which will continue for the coming years as it was in partnership with Karanjawala & Co.

A sprawling cricket, football and volleyball ground, a gymnasium, a swimming pool, tennis courts and an indoor sports complex with table tennis, chess and carom facilities make sports an integral part of any student's life at the College. The College has a Gymkhana Managing Committee with a full time faculty member as the chairperson and representatives from all divisions to organize the activities.The College encourages students to participate in competitions organized by the University of Pune and other colleges. Athletics competitions are held around December - January during the annual college week.

'Abhivyakti', the college magazine is published around the month of April each year. It is brought out in two section "Abhivyakti ILS Law Journal" consisting of the student and staff articles, interviews, etc. and "Abhivyakti Yearbook" consisting of the annual report of the college activities of the past year.The magazine has English, Marathi, and Hindi sections. College Magazine editorial committee comprises: Mrs. Vaijayanti Joshi, Principal and Dr. Tejaswini Malegaonkar. The editorial committe is aided by a student editorial committee formed on the basis of interviews of interested candidates.

The College also publishes ILS Law Review consisting of papers presented by the resource persons and students during the annual SP Sathe Conference. The Conference is held every year in the memory of acclaimed jurist and former Principal of the College Late Prof. SP Sathe.

===Hostels===
There is separate hostel for boys and girls in different buildings inside the campus. Its mandatory for all the students of NLU Delhi to stay on campus in the hostels, no one can be a day scholar. The infrastructure of both the hostels are same, with 6 floors each and the ground floor reserved for mess, warden's office, hostel reception, 2 guards (24*7), general store room, common room, etc. The six floors are connected by stairs as well as 2 lifts (elevators). Each floor consists of 16 rooms (including 2 store rooms each) with residing capacity of 2 students per room. The rooms are well furnished with bed, wall fitted wardrobes, chair, drawer table, and shelves. The rooms are well-ventilated with windows fitted with nets and grills along with glass panes. The upper 3 floors have balconies attached to each of the rooms.
Each washroom has 2 bathing rooms, 3 wash basins and 2 toilets and altogether each floor has 4 such washrooms.
The curfew timings of the hostels are 9.00 pm.

The University has an amazing collection of legal volumes with the entire library costing around 6 crores.

There are a number of computers available for student use, both in the Computer Lab in the Academic Block and the Internet Centre in the Library. The computers are well connected by the internet. The campus is well-connected by wi-fi (wireless fidelty) internet connection.

A contingent of fifteen students from the top three ears was sent to compete against the best of India's law colleges in Virudhaka 2010, the Sports Fest of National Law Institute, Bhopal, and returned with the trophy for the Overall Best College and a medal tally of four gold medals and four silver medals, which included a gold in football, table tennis, lawn tennis, and swimming. Apart from the team achievements, the college also claimed most of the individual awards with the Best Player of the Tournament being awarded to Vinayak Bhandari (3rd year).
