Law School Admissions are coming up! Cheers to the prospoective law school students!

We all very well know the importance of the knowledge of the credibility and standing of a law school we would like to join in our future. This blog contains a report of the same where, on the analysis of Outlook and India Today, after interviewing some students, I have come up with this rankings.

There may be dissnting opinions about this, and I genuinely respect them. We know the probability of variations in a law school rankings, or for any other college/university, for that metter, and therefore, this blog shall venture upon giving a new dimension to the rankings of the law schools of India.

Further, it must be mentioned here that, as has been mentioned in the first paragraph, this has an analysis of the rankings of Outlook and India Today, and therefore this blog shall also include non-CLAT law schools too.  Also, this is a ranking on 10 parameters that hasn't been done anywhere and therefore, I hope to make this report more credible.

The parameters on which I have based the rankings are:

Faculty, Placements, Seniority, Infrastructure, Facilities, Strictness, Safety, Arbitrariness, Quality of Education, and Quality of Student.

Now, before going further, the description and basis of the above mentioned parameters shall be discussed.

Faculty: This forms a very important part reflecting the reputation of the University and has a very important impact on the future of a student in every college/university of every field/profession. The teaching style of the faculties, their accountability to the administration, the interaction they have with the students, all of which bears a very important reflection on a student's life and his behaviour.

Placements: Before joining any college/university, we always ask the students of that college/university about the placements. Obviously, law schools are judged significantly on this aspect and you'll find every rankings including this parameter. Placements of a law school which includes, Law Firm, Corporate, In-house etc. are various sub-fields where a law student can go for in future and a first year could plan his/her activities on the basis of the prospective future. It may be noted that due to overwhelmingly exaggerated focus on this field, students often forget the basis of the law schools. The primary motive of a law school is to create a professional lawyer, and the product of a law school is based on the quality and the knowledge that a student has gained from that law school, with a special emphasis on the National Law Universities which are not made for producing corporate lawyers but to produce qualitative lawyers. Furter, Placements are not definite that anyone could predict in future. It soleley depends on how you perform at the time of interview and the college/university cannot do anything at that very critical time.

Seniority: I think this doesn't needs any clarification. This paramter is concerned with the year in which a law school was established.

Infrastructure: This may form an important part before joining a college/university. We tend to give a significant focus on the buildings and the gardens of a college/university and may judge the administration on that.

Facilities: A college/university provides various fcailities to a student in terms of internet, sports outlet, canteen etc. and which influences the life os a law student significantly. The ambience of a law school is often adjudged on the basis of this paramter.

Strictness: This is often hated by every student of any college/university because it curbs the freedom of a student and therefore it is also an important factor. I consider it to be important because where strictness in the hands of administration doesn't lie, the students are prone to many illegal things and activities and therefore, parents always venture out to look for the rules and regulations of a college/university.

Safety: This may be called an extension of the previous paramter. This is specially based on the incidents of harrasement, and accidents that have happened in the near future in many law schools, special emphasis on the NLUs and therefore it may be considered an important factor to base the upcoming rankings too.

Arbitrariness: This follows the attitude of the administration responsible for a college/university and their behaviour towards the students of that college/university. The excessive prower in the hands of few necessarily leads to the downgrading of that college/university. Freedom of speech and expression of students is necessary for the proper functioning of that college/university and it also keeps an eye on the working of the administration.

Quality of Education: This aspect is linked with the level of education that takes place in a college/university and it may be an extended point of the first paramter of this report. This ranking depends on the course material which is distributed in a college/university, the library resources etc.

Quality of Students: The level of a batch and their competence to handle things professionally is also an important factor in judging an institution. It also has a bearing on the behaviour of a law student in ways of his/her interaction and exposure comtemplated by the competence of his/her batch.

After succesfully explaining and giving a detailed reasoning, the rankings are as follows:
