The Gamble of uncertainty

As a law student, especially in the initial years, it’s like a life swirling in an indefinite motion. It’s a stage where all elements for an ambitious and passionate career can be found. But one latent yet crucial aspect is uncertainty i.e., the dark side that only elevates the term ‘Survival in a law school’.

It’s presumed that law school is meant to guide and orient the students throughout. But sometimes many law schools are not fortunate enough to provide the intrinsic assistance that creates a pathway for a law student. It’s true that no law school spoon feeds their students till the end, but heading towards unrealistic goals is really like a “gamble of uncertainty”. Unrealistic goals in the sense those goals that are subjected to achieve for the sake of it, without realizing their inner true potential. For instance if someone does internship without realizing the kind of task assigned and instead having lack of interest in it, then it’s of no use. If getting a certificate is the primary goal then it’s like making a mockery of oneself in the end. Such kind of situation occurs numerous times and sometimes students cannot be blamed wholly. Even bright students fall into the trap because they get perplexed by the diverse options to choose from. Hence they  always remain surrounded under a false pretext on account of their own decision.

Hence, law schools should have a mandatory orientation about the law career and it’s approach in a reasonable manner to make students realize themselves as a pioneer in whichever field of law they may wish to. The same fact cannot be denied that experimenting in diverse field also discovers an unfounded interest among the students. But basic information about a career is like bare necessities without which one cannot live without. Only then it might motivate or reflect the true passion of a student that might work as building block for the rest of their life.

Only then numerous students would be saved from the havoc of uncertain decisions influenced by misapprehension about their interest. Only then we can rise and develop their individuality rather than mingling with the crowd.
