Law Forever!

Once a law student went up to a lawyer and started pouring out his difficulties in understanding a few topics on Intestate Succession in Family Law, one of the branches of Civil Law. The lawyer looked at the boy in his eyes and completely out of the boy’s query, instead, asked him, “What is Law?”

The boy murmured, convincing him he was right, replied, “Well! Law is a branch of legal studies…”, “Law decides what is right and wrong and what is correct and what is absurd…”, “Law defines the pattern of a civil society by furnishing rules that are to be governed on the land…”, “Law sets the rules to govern the land…”, “Law brings equality…” and so forth he went on until he noticed the lawyer just trying to open his mouth to respond, and then he stops.

“Law is common sense!”  exclaimed the lawyer.

“Yes, you heard that right. Law is nothing but common sense”, he insisted.

As the saying goes, “There are two types of Lawyers in India, One who carries a black Umbrella and another, who carry the papers (of Justice or Self-Prejudice, absolutely personal preference).

A profession of a lawyer needs a minimum of almost ten years from the date of practice to make a goodwill in the society he/she lives on and live a respectable and honored life he/she has always been fantasizing of, forget money, it’s a far horizon which in its own whimsical way reflects the best mirage of a prosperous and a wealthy sunset.

Ideals of wisdom and candles of virtues built and lit respectively down the centuries has definitely inculcated in us a sense through which we can be judgmental of what is right and what is wrong or what ought to be right and what ought to be wrong. The catch however is that, the judgment varies. For one maybe stealing a car to meet a pregnant wife may be right, on the contrary for the other it might just be the verve.

The Lady of Justice holding the mercantile instrument as a medium to weigh Just from the Unjust is actually blind. To a sane mind question would definitely bombard the nerd in him, “How can someone ignorant to the facts of an incident ordain a verdict pronouncing justice to the actions leading to the occurrence of the incident? Strange!”  Well this is Law that we hypothetically entail and live by in our daily lives, come a little profound, these are epoch-making revelations of Justice in disguise.

A prompt decision to be a lawyer may not always take one far off. Initially everything sparks and they try to glow the best in their zeal, yet it is a long journey. The study of Law longs for determination, dedication, patience, perseverance, and most importantly the realization and reminder of the fact, time and again, that you may fall any time.

What matters is not How many of them you Lose out there but How many of them you Win within.
