Union of India and Sanskriti School in Delhi have approached the Supreme Court of India against November 6 judgment of Delhi High Court by which it had quashed the 60% quota reserved in Sanskriti School for children of Group-A officers of the Union of India who enters service through the Civil Services Examination.

The special leave petitions (SLP) to appeal filed by the Union of India and Sanskriti School will be heard by the bench of Justices Anil R Dave and Adarsh Kumar Goel. The two SLPs are listed as mentioning matters.

CasesSLP(C) NO. 35077 of 2015
Union of India v. Courts On Its Own Motion Thr. Registrar, High Court Of Delhi At New Delhi And Ors.
and
SLP(C) NO. 35102 of 2015
Sanskriti School v Courts On Its Own Motion And Ors.
Bench
  • Justice Anil R Dave and
  • Justice Adarsh Kumar Goel

On Nov 6, Delhi High Court had held:

As regards Sanskriti school we direct the Union Government to take an appropriate decision in light of the present decision and in particular whether the school can be made part of the existing Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan or alternatively in what manner the wrong can be rectified keeping in view the present decision. As regards Sanskriti school we simply have to note that the Civil Services Society which formed the school was established by wives of senior bureaucrats in the Government and the entire infrastructure to set up the school has been provided by the various ministries and instrumentalities of the Union Government, discharging an important public duty of providing education using State land and the State funds in its creation, the school would partake the character of the State and thus we quash the 60% quota reserved in Sanskriti School for children of Group-A officers of the Union of India who enters service through the Civil Services Examination.
