As there is lack of proper ranking for NLUs so I was trying to formulate a way to rank NLUs.

Also, I tried to rank NLUD with other NLUs.

I ranked colleges on five criteria:

1. Placements - I based my ranking on data available on different websites and number of job offers + LLM + People opting for competitive examinations for ranking colleges. Also, I tried to give preference to offers from top colleges and top tier law firms.

*First batch of NUSRL and NLUJAA have not passed out and this is the only reason for them being marked so low in this.

2. Faculty - I calculated by giving faculty points and then ranking the colleges. For allotting faculty points I gave 3 points to Professors, 2 to Associate Professors and 1 to Assistant Professor. I didn't mark Teaching Assistants and Visiting Professors as they I personally feel do not make a great mark in regular studies.

Faculty Profile is there on every college websites which have been updated by most of the colleges recently with the release of CLAT notification and the same I was tracking for some time and I used the same for marking Faulties.

3. Mooting - I based my mooting rank on average rank in last 5 Mooting Premier League.

*NLUD should actually be ranked after NLS and NLUJ if we go by their performance in all MPLSs except MPL 1 where they finished 16, the only time out of top 5.

*NUSRL and NLUJAA didn't feature first five MPL and so any one interested can look for their mooting performance in MPL 6.

4. Student Teacher Ratio - (Total no. of students to be admitted this year * 5)/ (Professor + Associate Professor + Assistant Professor)

5. Perception Rank - I calculated average of CLAT rank of Top 30 General category student opting for a particular NLU in first round of allotment. Although, I know a lot of students in lower ranked colleges opt for other colleges but the main purpose of this is perception of CLAT aspirants which I think is served by this method.

*NLUD is being marked equivalent to NLIU because it is between NLUD, NUJS,NLIU and NLUJ student make their choice, in case they have to.

Also, I marked colleges from 15 to 1 based on their ranking but gave double value to placements and CLAT Mean Rank as these two are the drawing features of good students from CLAT Applicants every year
