Wonder why you didn't give the link to my post "15 CV Tips..." :X
Besides the "certifiable" gag was too good to pass up on. :-)
your post quite helped me realose that no body realy knows how and why they landed ;)
How about points like work exposure, reputed firm, an experience in another land etc.? Or these wouldn't make sense aftre being there for some time?
Please do give some good points also, or I will remain doubtful about my choice.
As you say, the exposure is great and your basics are going to be very solid. You will learn about different cultural perspectives and will notice how professional everything is in the office. You will have a good work-life balance (i.e, enough spare time to write a blog). Also, you will actually be encouraged to take holidays to keep yourself fresh!
Besides, there's bright sunshine at 10 p.m. in summer. :-) Dont worry, be happy!
I'm told the worst part of the recession is past and the UK is recovering. Don't want to sound preachy, but keep an open mind and you will learn a lot. Also, it can't hurt to be qualified in another jurisdiction. You can always go back to India whenever you want to.
Be confident and stride forth!
LMAO- am still lafing!!
Felt lost and confused many times. Tried hard to find answer by contemplating after getting drunk and sometimes asking questions to people in a similar situation that i was into; everytime i got a differrent answer, which, sometimes helped and at other made me more confused about my choice of coming to the UK.
As I am back now, I have to face a "reverse culture shock" about everything, right from the taste of the milk, to the accent and the work culture, to name few. The decision of opting for counsel work has added bit of a stress and it does seem like an uphill task but trying hard not to panic and stay focused.
Soemtimes it feels like I have a love and a hate relationship with my own country where i have spent almost 25 years of life before taking the life changing decision.
Hope that things will reconcile and will feel completely satisfied with my decision of choosing bright sunlight albeit too bright over grey weather. Hopefully my loyalty to my country and family will pay off in some way or the other.
Hope things work out well for you in India and you go onto many many successes.
