Former Hindustan Unilever senior legal counsel Rajendra Misra has joined the Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces group as general counsel (GC) several days ago, taking over part of the role that was previously handled by the group’s company secretary and vice president legal Beejal Desai, who remains the company secretary.

According to Misra’s Linked-in profile, he will be a member of the company’s executive committee.

Before joining Taj Hotels he was senior legal counsel at Hindustan Unilever between 2011 and 2015, associate general counsel until 2011 at ITC, which he had joined in 1997 as a corporate legal manager.

Before that he was at Dunlop India and Indal’s legal teams after having graduated from the University of Calcutta in 1991.
