AoR exam gets much easier: Nearly a third pass (compared to 12% last year)

165 candidates passed this year’s advocates-on-record (AoR) exam this year - a huge increase compared to the 65 candidates out of 544 who passed a year ago.

While the total number of candidates were not published this year, the highest roll number is 516 on the list of those who passed and those 76 who are entitled to retakes.

That would mean an approximate pass rate of 30 per cent - 2.5 times what it was in 2015.

In 2014 , 22 per cent or 107 out of 488 candidates passed the exam, that gives advocates the exclusive right to file with the Supreme Court.

The exam was conducted between 26 and 29 May 2015.
