The National Commission for Women (NCW) has produced a report into RGNUL Patiala, following a fact-finding mission prompted by complaints made by students during their protests against the administration, urging the administration to fix a number of deficiencies.

Patiala-based additional district and sessions judge Manjot Kaur has begun the judicial inquiry into RGNUL Patiala administrative officer Capt SP Singh, against whom students have alleged multiple allegations of misconduct. However, students have also expressed concerns that the Singh’s likely presence at the proceedings could result in students not being able to share evidence freely, fearing administrative reprisals.

The RGNUL Patiala administration has agreed to protesting students’ four main demands in writing, putting to an end five days of student protests kicked off by the suspension of six students.

RGNUL Patiala students have now held a peaceful protest for the fourth night in a row since Friday, after a series of long-standing grievances had remained unaddressed by the administration, coming to a head over the suspension of six students.
