MPL 4: Where Indian mooting lives NLU Delhi won the 2013 Red Cross Moot in Hong Kong against Australian National University, giving the young national law school 50 points in the Mooting Premier League (MPL) 4 that has been dominated by NLSIU Bangalore.

NLS towersExclusive: NLSIU Bangalore has launched a host of new construction in its academic block, hostels, and basketball courts while NLU Delhi has decided to renegotiate the pay of its foreign-educated faculty, after both law schools were sanctioned close to Rs 8 crore by the University Grants Commission (UGC) in November 2012.

A similar grant was also extended by the UGC to the other 12 national law schools (NLU) late last year under the eleventh five-year plan, after their vice chancellors (VC) lobbied aggressively against excluding the law schools from central funding.

Mooting Premier League 2011-12 - MPL3

NLU Delhi and NLSIU Bangalore were the only two teams that broke into the top 32 at the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot at Washington last month. While NLU Delhi won two honourable mentions and took home 30 points, NLSIU Bangalore won the third best memorandum award and bagged 20 points from this Tier 1 global championship MPL moot.

Nalsar Hyderabad became the first Indian team to win the international rounds of the Oxford Media Law moot by defeating the University of Technology, Sydney in the final rounds.

NLU Delhi finished as semi-finalist in the moot. NLSIU Bangalore won its eighth best memorandum award this season at the Tier 2 World Class MPL moot.

Mooting Premier League 2011-12 - MPL3NLU Delhi demolished the opposition in the Jessup North India qualifying rounds and the KK Luthra Memorial Moot, while NUJS Kolkata posted its first MPL 3 win in the anti-trust moot conducted by Christ University. NLSIU Bangalore continued with its winning ways, registering yet another moot win in the Rizvi International Moot.
