The much-awaited Legally India Mooting Premier League (MPL) second season has arrived with NLIU Bhopal taking home the first points, defeating RGNUL Patiala in the North India finals of the Surana & Surana National Trial Advocacy Moot Court Competition on Sunday.

NUJS Kolkata has scored a double-whammy by winning the best team and best researcher awards at the first All India Corporate Law Moot Court Competition 2009 organised by National Law University Delhi, narrowly beating NLIU Bhopal, which bagged the best orator award.

A team from NLSIU Bangalore has won the international Manfred Lachs Space Moot 2009 finals in Korea, besting a team of mooters from Georgetown University in the US and picking up the best individual oralist award.

The intra-university mooting season has started at many colleges this month, with a select few hoping to qualify for the most prestigious domestic and international moot courts. And judging by track records and past performance, Indian mooters stand a good chance of going far and wide.
