HSA Advocates partners Navin Syiem and Avirup Nag have resigned from the firm alongside associate partner Abhishek Bhalla.

Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas Delhi corporate principal associate Soumya Kanti De Mallik has joined HSA Advocates as an associate partner on 1 October.

HSA Advocates has promoted infrastructure, energy and corporate M&A associate partner Avirup Nag into its partnership.

Infrastructure and finance lawyer Nilesh Chandra was elevated to associate partner level, according to a press release from the firm, which stated that the firm now has 17 partners and associate partners and 70 lawyers in Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata.

Former Trilegal counsel and regulatory practice head Sakya Singha Chaudhuri has joined HSA Advocates as partner to head the firm’s regulatory practice. Chaudhuri left Trilegal in the last week of July and joined HSA in August.

HSA Advocates has hired Abeezar Faizullabhoy as the firm's 14th partner, according to a press release from the firm.

Faizullabhoy was an equity partner at J Sagar Associates (JSA) until 2013, when he left to join Chennai-based ultra-mega power project Aditya Resources as CEO.

HSA has offices in Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata and a "correspondent relationship in Bangalore", according to the statement.

HSA Advocates has promoted Pranav Singh and Harsh Arora to its partnership, while Sumedha Dutta and Arun Mani were elevated to asociate partner level [Bar & Bench]

Five lawyers from HSA Advocates, J Sagar Associates (JSA), Luthra & Luthra, AZB & Partners and Zeus IP have started Delhi firm Jupiter Law Partners.

HSA Advocates advised Invest India Micro Pension Services (IIMPS) and its promoters in raising funds from German promotional bank KfW for a 30 per cent stake in IIMPS. KfW was advised by its in house legal team.

AZB & Partners partner Hardeep Sachdeva advised the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation, which is one of the shareholder’s in IIMPS, alongside UTI Asset Management and SEWA.

HSA partner Harvinder Singh and senior associate Sumedha Dutta acted for IIMPS, which distributes financial services to lower income groups, including savings schemes for old age.

HSA Advocates has elevated partner-designate Harvinder Singh – one of the two people promoted to the firm’s principal associate-equivalent designation last year – to its partnership effective 1 April 2013.
