Mehra is part of the firm’s India practice which was also strengthened by former AZB senior associate Bharat Vansh Bahadur in 2013, according to a press release from the firm.
Mehra, who obtained an LLB in 2002 from Delhi University and joined AZB until 2007, worked at Jones Day Singapore before joining Gibson Dunn in 2008. She is dual qualified to practice in India and England & Wales.
“Ms. Mehra has an extensive background working in the Indian markets and her experience includes advising foreign investors in formation of joint ventures in India and/or acquiring stakes in Indian companies; advising private equity investors on the most viable investment options in India vis-à-vis foreign investment guidelines; advising Indian companies in forming joint ventures and acquiring stakes in overseas companies; and advising Indian and foreign investors in acquiring government equity in public sector undertakings, including advice on key issues related to status of government companies and implications of change in status,” stated the release.
Yogesh Bhattarai, who left AZB & Partners’ equity partnership in 2012 for a sabbatical, has joined Trilegal.
