Rajaram, Themis, Sahai on Stanza Living’s $10m Series A raise by Sequoia Cap, existing investors

Hostel and paying guest accommodation startup, Stanza Living has raised an estimated Rs 73 crores (around $10m) in a Series A round of funding led by Sequoia Capital, along with participation from existing investors Matrix Partners and California-headquartered Accel Partners, as reported by VC Circle and Mint. With the current investment, the total capital raised by Stanza Living stands at Rs 86 crores, also marking it the largest ever in the Indian market-space.

Rajaram Legal advised existing investor Matrix Partners, with a team led by partner Priyadarshani Sherchan and associate Steve Thomas.

Themis Associates acted for Sequoia Capital in the fundraising, led by associate partner Amritha Salian and senior associate Alimpan Chaterjee.

Accel Partners was represented by its in-house team.

Update 1 October 2018: Stanza Living was represented by Sahai & Co partner Savyasachi K Sahai.

Founded in 2017, Delhi-based Stanza Living is a technology-enabled student accommodation concept that puts the student as a consumer at the heart of its product and service design. With the fresh funds the startup looks forward to bolster its technology engine, strengthen its core leadership team and spread its network of operations to expand across multiple markets.
