Indus, Bharucha, NDA act on Unacademy $50m stake increase

Bengaluru: Unacademy has concluded a secondary transaction round that saw Tiger Global, Dragoneer Investment Group, Steadview Capital and General Atlantic purchase $50 million-worth of shares from existing investors to increase their stake in the edtech startup.

IndusLaw advised Unacademy led by a team of senior partner Suneeth Katarki and partner Rashi Saraf, with a team including lawyers Ankita Gupta and Manisha Nayak.

Bharucha and Partners advised General Atlantic Singapore SHT Pte. Ltd.

Nishith Desai Associates acted for Steadview Capital Opportunities.

Gunderson Dettmer acted for DF International Private Partners (Dragoneer) and Internet Fund VI Pte. Ltd (Tiger).

The same firms had also advised in the previous $150m round late last year.
