SAM, JSA on $732m Indiabulls stake sale to Blackstone

“Indiabulls Real Estate Ltd (IBREL) has executed definitive transaction documents with global private equity investor Blackstone Group LP to divest 50% stake in subsidiaries Indiabulls Properties Private Ltd and Indiabulls Real Estate Co. Pvt. Ltd at an aggregate enterprise value of $1.46bn or Rs9,500 crore,” reported Mint.

J Sagar Associates (JSA) partners Lalit Kumar, Namita Bahri, Amitabh Kumar and Vaibhav Choukse, principal associates Bharat Bhushan Sharma and Bharati Joshi and associates Amandeep Singh Virk, Tanisha Bhatia and Ela Bali acted for Indiabulls.

The Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas private equity transaction team led by regional practice head Mumbai and partner Raghubir Menon and partner Anuj Bhasme acted for Blackstone. The private equity side also included senior associates Neety Thakkar and Gaurav Dugar, associates Nishant Sharma, Avichal Mathur, Sangeetha Ganesh and Rutvi Shrimankar. Also assisting was the real estate advisory team led by partner Ashoo Gupta, principal associate Daryush Marfatia, associates Mansi Samdani, Pallavi Kishore and Siddhanth Jain. The competition law team at SAM included partners Shweta Shroff Chopra and Manika Brar, and senior associate Supritha Prodaturi. Managing partner Akshay Chudasama “provided strategic inputs and guidance on the transaction”, according to SAM’s release.

Simpson Thacher & Bartlett, Kirkland & Ellis, Bobby Parikh Associates, ERM and Mauritius law firm Madun Gujadhur Chambers also acted for Blackstone.
