Exclusive: Lakshmi Kumaran & Sridharan (LKS) has opened a second office in Delhi and a new office in Pune, taking its total number of offices to seven and number of lawyers to 250.
The Delhi office building has been operational since 12 March, while the Pune office was launched on 12 December 2011.
The firm’s new Jungpura office in Delhi, spanning 15,000 square feet across four working floors, was opened in addition to its existing Delhi office of eight years in Safdarjung Enclave.
Together the two offices take LKS’s Delhi office space to 25,000 square feet, with around 150 professionals, two-thirds of whom have moved to the new office.
Delhi’s new office caters to the firm’s tax litigation, tax advisory and international trade and customs practice, while the corporate practice is handled by the team at the old office, headed by four partners.
The Jungpura office building is energy efficient, equipped with solar panels, maximised sunlight-capturing window panes, and a rainwater harvesting system.
Additionally, the new building carries space for a guest house catering to the firm’s foreign clients, and enjoys the advantage of greater proximity than the old office, to courts in Delhi.
New in Pune
LKS’s new Pune office operates from temporary premises in the city.
Sandeep Sachdeva is heading the Pune office and is a joint partner heading the firm’s taxation and regulatory practice.
The four practice areas of LKS, tax, intellectual property, corporate, and international trade, are spread between its existing offices in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad and now Pune.
Last year seven lawyers, including one associate partner, from Khaitan & Co joined LKS in Delhi.
