Dhir & Dhir non-lawyer CEO Manju Mohotra resigns, will take some time off

The CEO of Dhir & Dhir, Manju Mohotra, who had joined the firm in 2012 from Singhania & Partners, has resigned.

Looking back at her career, in which she said she became the first non-lawyer CEO of an Indian law firm at Singhania & Co around 17 years ago, she noted: “I felt it’s been almost 30 years now. Either I will take a long sabbatical and see how it goes and how I enjoy it, picking up things that I want to do.”

About her time at Dhir, she said that it was a challenging time but that several projects had been successful, such as an additional focus on Japan, which would continue, a growth in the infrastructure practice and implementation of “quite a few processes and changes”.

Leaving was not an easy decision, which she had “been mulling over it for the last three to four months”, she said, but she looked forward to taking some time off and travelling with her husband for the coming months.
