Exclusive: Clasis Law has hired former Parekh & Co lawyer Sumeet Lall as a partner to head up its litigation and disputes team.

Lall worked on retainer with Parekh & Co for around seven years, most recently at a level equivalent to senior associate, is qualified as an advocate on record in the Supreme Court and graduated from ILS Pune in 2000.

He joined Clasis on 8 November as a salaried partner.

Lall said that he would service Clasis’ as well as his own set of clients. “With offices in Mumbai, London and Delhi it is an excellent platform and they offered me to set up their litigation practice.”

He noted that he wanted to focus on litigation, arbitration, as well as consumer and competition law issues in building the practice.

Clasis Delhi founding partner Vineet Aneja commented: “A lot of clients are looking at us to cater to their litigation requirements as well and that was the area for full service that we had a focus on.”

He added that the practice since separating from ALMT Legal had gone well, with around 12 lawyers now based in Delhi, including the July-lateral hire Sidhanth Rajagopal from its best friend firm Clyde & Co as a partner.

Parekh & Co was unavailable for comment at the time of going to press.
