2003 NLSIU grad Karthik Kumar makes equity partner at Jones Day

Jones Day has promoted NLSIU Bangalore 2003 graduate Karthik Kumar to its all-equity partnership.

Kumar is based in Singapore and specialises in project finance and infrastructure and is one of 47 new equity partners from 1 January 2016.

Kumar began his career at the erstwhile Amarchand Mangaldas in 2003, moved to Freehills in 2006, and joined Jones Day as an of counsel in Singapore in 2012.

According to his Jones Day profile:

he represented numerous businesses, including the developer in a 222.6 MW wind power project in Western Australia, the syndicate led by ANZ in the financing of Queensland’s first ethanol biorefinery facility at Dalby, ANZ in the refinancing and restructuring of the Dalby Project, and Tata Power as strategic investor on its US$1.1 billion acquisition and the associated US$950 million financing of its equity interest in coal mining companies in Indonesia.
