Mr.L the sub inspector of police called Mrs.P to his private room and tried to make sexual advances for which she strongly objected. Then Mr.L told her that if she agrees to satisfy his sesual urge he in turn would influence the authorities to get her husband acquitted in the criminal case. Then she agreed for her submission. Subsequently Mr.P (husband of Mrs.P) was convicted as Mr.L did nothing to get acquitted. Then Mrs.P filed a complaint against Mr.L for rape. He was charged and convicted for custodial rape.
Now Mr.L is filing an appeal before Hon'ble High Court against conviction given by the trial court.
Can Mr.L appeal is justified as he has been convicted for rape and what are the remedies available?
