NDA, JSA on $700m Birla buy of Reliance cement

Nishith Desai Associates advised Birla Corporation on its $706.7m (Rs 4800 crore) acquisition of Anil Ambani’s cement business – a Reliance Infrastructure (RInfra) subsidiary which was advised by J Sagar Associates (JSA).

NDA Mumbai associates Karan Kalra and Abhinav Harlalka, and partners Rajesh Simhan and Nishchal Joshipura acted for Birla.

JSA Mumbai partners Dina Wadia and Jamshed Bhumgara and senior associate Manav Raheja acted for Reliance.

Birla Corp will buyout RInfra’s shareholding in RCCPL, subject to approval by the Competition Commission of India and other regulators, reported the Economic Times.
