Exclusive: DSK Legal’s Delhi office has scored the role advising Japanese telecoms major Softbank Corp on its $200m strategic investment in Bangalore-based mobile ad network InMobi, alongside four international firms.

DSK Delhi partner Balbir Singh is understood to have led a team of six advising the Japanese company, with which it has a long-standing relationship.

Morrison Foerster Tokyo-based partner Randy Laxer and Wong & Partners Singapore office advised Softbank on non-Indian laws.

Allen & Gledhill Singapore partner Tan Su May and Fenwick & West California-based chairman Gordon Davidson represented InMobi, which also used its Bangalore-based in-house counsel.

InMobi raised $200m from Softbank, which will be payable in two equal tranchers in September 2011 and April 2012.
