Gurudev, translations exist. The same way Foucault and Durkheim's most works were translated into English. Same for Carl Schmitt. Karl Marx. Immanuel Kant.
My parents came from a background where english was neither their mother tongue nor taught at schools. They could not afford to be in circles where english was common. They got into top institutions of their time primarily because of exams being in Hindi as well. Of course, their english improved over time - but to think someone like you would have advocated for denying them quality education (and by extension, better quality of life to several generations that follow). It's sickening. The point is to induct good students and remove the barriers that stop them from advancing - in this case, the elitist language (and let's not pretend english isn't the language of the elite - at least in North India).
If you think the purpose of education is to argue at Jessup, education really has failed you. And if your entire point is that after graduation one has to draft contracts - the wide wide possibilities of the legal field have evaded your vision.
And how will those students handle having to study heavy duty content to study in English and all classes in English immediately after admission? Nobody thinks of that! This makes them go into depression, questioning their self worth. Suicides also follow.

This is a foolish and populist observation that will demolish whatever quality and merit remains in NLUs if implemented. Do we expect students to read Durkheim, Foucault, Adam Smith, Sen, Holmes, Pound, Learned Hand, Denning, Krishna Iyer, Palkhivala, Baxi, Salmond, Posner etc in Hindi and Tamil? Do we expect our students to argue at Jessup and Vienna in Telugu and Odia? Do we expect students to draft contracts and licence agreements for Microsoft and Facebook in Kannada and Bengali?
And why can't judge say the same for IIM?
The only people happy with this will be populist, anti-meritocratic politicians and woke activists obsessed with class and identity.
I think that the Logical reasoning, maths and GK section can be conducted in regional language. It will make sure that the students from vernacular medium school at least get a chance at cracking the exam
