Don't get me wrong: I support Sourabh Kirpal and think the govt is homophobic. But I don't get why the SC collegium did not stand up in the same way for NLSIU alum Aditya Sondhi (a first-gen lawyer) when he was denied judgeship. Also, while it's good that Sourabh Kirpal has a degree from Oxbridge, so many first-gen lawyers also have degrees from abroad, including Oxbridge, Harvard etc. Why aren't they being made judges?
