There's a trend I see among certain Gen-Z NLU/Jindal students and alumni to glorify the Dalit Panthers, Black Panthers, Malcolm X and other radical subaltern activists/groups, inspired by certain social media influencers. Dalit activist Prem Ayyathurai is a well-known example of an NLSIU alum who is promoting such groups, but there are others too. Many of them are inspired by Dalit social media influencer and writer Suraj Yengde, an Indian disciple of Critical Race Theory proponent Cornel West.
With due respect, I fell these Gen-Z students/alumni are not doing their reading properly and not understanding the whole truth. Malcolm X was a school dropout and ex-con, not a scholarly and enlightened person like Martin Luther King and WEB DuBois. . He had a history of making offensive statements towards Jews and insulted liberals like King and Dubois. Meanwhile, Dalit Voice (the mouthpiece of the Dalit Panthers) published a series of crazy conspiracy theories linking Jews and Brahmins. The editor also endorsed The Protocols of the Elders of Zion (a known forgery), blamed Jews for 9/11 and supported Ahmidinejad's Holocaust denial conference.
Suraj Yengde himself has a serious of dubious tweets to his credit (happy to share and you can also Google and see).
What I want to tell Gen-Z NLU/Jindal students and alumni is to please avoid the far-left spectrum of subaltern activists and stick to the enlightened, peaceful liberalism of Ambedkar and MLK. Please do your reading properly and don't be influenced by Twitter.
Please avoid asking others to avoid reading anyone's work. They should read everyone's work and figure out for themselves which one makes logical sense to them.
