You can do your B.Tech in Electrical Engineering and can go onto become RBI governor OR do Mechanical Engineering and go onto Manage Private Equity Firms, but sadly in legal field in India, Law firms don't let you switch your practice area - Because you don't have relevant experience. Hence, it better to die
That is definitely not true (at least not at all firms). However, it can take a bit of legwork and networking to change practice areas: you need to be able to tell a good story of why and also show why it would be valuable to the firm. And try to be positive, rather than just saying "I hate where I work right now", talk about 'passion' and demonstrate that you've done some research into the area you want to join.
Hi, do tier 1s allow changing practice areas as an A0? Say if I want to shift to litigation from banking and finance? Can someone who has done this help with how to take this conversation with the partner. Will be much helpful! Thanks
