Hearing that the firm is firing across levels because of too much hiring initially, are the rumours true?
[Moderator note: this post about a rumour about Khaitan is likely not true, or at least at this point there has been no credible information received that there is substance to the rumour]
CAM has a perpetual firing policy. The problem with CAm is it keeps firing the junior employees when it should be firing the useless senior employees who don't know anything about the law.
Any more clarity on this anyone? Please tell if things are alright in Khaitan - currently evaluating an offer. The supposed firings relate to which office and which practice?
Don't! A number of associates are being threatened about their time utilization. It is not the associates problem if the firm does not have work. That's the job of partners to ensure their team has adequate work. You'd better opt for any other option.
It is a real shame if a firm which claims to be India's largest does not have work. Same thing is happening with many other firms throughout India, and they have the temerity to blame the Associates and their quality of work product for them not being given enough work, while only prioritising and giving importance to those who shout out loud in the centre of the office things like "let's grab coffee from starbucks, how much did you get that Gucci / LV bag for, your apartment complex looks really posh" etc.... Sad state of affairs when a person with more money, and willing to spend lavishly on their seniors (or at least those who are seen as being rich and indulging in lavish spending) get more work for only that reason and those who are seen as coming from a not very posh background are deliberately ignored, relegated to the sidelines and viewed with suspicion at all times.

They are not even ready to fire the dead weight.
