This is not a fair comparison.
The work being done is very different and secondly the scope of growth for both professions are so different.
Bhai kuch to sharam kar le. Vaqalat hi kyun kari agar galat to galat nahi bol sakta.
Minimum wage bhi nahi milta juniors ko and don't quote nonsense that lawyers are not employees, they are on a retainer namesake only else trying acting as an independent contractor even once with your boss and he will show you your place.
In fact, juniors should pay to their seniors, for knowledge imparted.
Only if all you make them do is learn.

Not fair if you make them draft, make them seek adjournments/passovers for you, make them run around, make them carry files and run to the registry in extreme heat, make them work sixteen hours a day. Expecting to be paid while torturing someone? At least pay them a sustenance allowance, you knucklehead.
In most cases it would be less than 12k but there are some other factors which must be taken into account:
1. Zomato rider has no career progression, while an intern has a strong career progression if he plays his cards right.
2. Internships are part of the medical profession as well, and it's because you need to have adequate experience before you enter into the arena.
We already have enough incompetent lawyers around, wouldn't hurt to have some well trained ones under senior lawyers.
3. It is never a fancy paycheck like corporate lawyers but some advocates do pay well, they're scantly available but they'll always eye for a talent.

4. It's a deep-rooted problem with no will from the higher-ups to be resolved, it's not a new thing that a law graduate is paid a meagre salary. Back in the day some of the established lawyers would've faced this issue as well but they continue to follow the trend.
I'm not saying that the graduates ought to be paid less, rather answering the 'why' of it. In 2020, there was draft about security of lawyers but didn't hear much after that.
What do you guys think is the correct way to rectify the current trend? Fixed salary by legislation? Government incentives? A contract based model to divide earnings in addition to the basic being paid?
First of all, some other agencies pay much more than that
1. No legal intern has a sure, well planned progression, in times where uncle-nephew alliances on the bench and bar are common, nepotism is rampant, seniors no longer "teach" new interns, but assign menial tasks, comparable to the delivery boy, who at least has the money for sustenance.

2. Nobody disputed or compared anything with med students. The reason why 80 percent lawyers are incompetent is because of reasons already mentioned in 1 and the redundant and impractical syllabus in law schools. (I request all not to start another NLU non NLU fight, lets agree its basically the same everywhere)

3. Not some, very very few, also only in Delhi or Mumbai prime areas, and the "stipend" paid by them, is NOT enough to sustain in these areas, for comfortable living

Seniors and judges have to start making incentives, payment + motivation for juniors (non nepo) and not give flimsy speeches about why NLU students refuse to enter litigation.
You want MORE as a delivery boy, driver than a junior lawyer. Why do you think lawyers are at the bottom of the matrimonial market?
