JGU-JGLS HONOURARY ADJUNCT PROFESSOR APPOINTED AS THE ATTORNEY GENERAL OF INDIA

I am delighted to share the wonderful news that one of our very dear friends and a distinguished lawyer of India and most importantly, the Honourary Adjunct Professor of Jindal Global Law School has been appointed as the Attorney General of India.

As Honorary Adjunct Professor of Jindal Global Law School (JGLS), Mr. R. Venkataramani, now our Learned Attorney General, had taught a full elective course in Fall 2020 to our final year students entitled: Supreme Court and Practice - Constitutional, Appellate & Other Jurisdictions!

Mr. Venkataramani delivered numerous lectures and spoke in multiple conferences, seminars, legal education roundtables, workshops, etc organised by our law school. His contribution to JGLS since its founding in 2009 has been truly outstanding. He has made significant academic contributions to other law schools as well in India and abroad.

Very rarely we find, the extremely busy Senior Advocates of Supreme Court of India or High Courts to have academic inclination of highest order, who do not only support quality legal education but also take time out, work hard and enter into tbe classroom as a teacher to contribute their part.

Most people who know Mr. Venkatramani will agree that the First Law Officer of the country, if not a practising lawyer in the apex court, would have been a Distinguished Professor of Law in a University!

A truly academic lawyer becomes the first law officer of the country today! He joins the league of legends of Indian law and judiciary led by none other than Hon'ble Setalvad, Daphtary, Soli Sorabjee, K. Parasaran and now succeeds Mr. K.K. Venugopal as the 14th Attorney General for India.

Congratulations!
