Hey!
I just got done with my LL.M from a reputed American University and have 2 years of PQE in General Corporate/ Corporate Transaction. Is there a vacancy at any tier 1 firm right now and how do I get in touch? Recruiters are really not doing it for me :(
Hey,

Where was this 2 years of PQE?

I just wish there was a way I could reach out to me you.

@moderator please suggest if this guy can reach out somehow?
Hey! Thank you for replying!
I was working at a Corporate Consultancy Firm (ex Dua, Dhir Associates/ Partners). We had a very small team so I have technically worked on every projects the the firm got. I have some experience in due diligence, regulatory compliance, drafting and vetting agreements, trademark filings, corporate advisory, incorporation of companies and statutory filings, et al. I was also a part of an M&A deal. I don't mind dropping in my LinkedIn over here (if the moderator allows that)
I’m sure Trilegal would be hiring at your PQE level and would be happy to connect
Hey! Thank you so much for replying! How would you suggest I get in touch? I checked their website and they don't seem to have any suitable vacancies rn
Guys, I’ve back from the US with a fancy LLM and instead of hustling like the rest of you, I feel that LI owes it to me to make my tier 1 dreams come true. Recruiters don’t cut it for me. Just tell me where and whom to apply to. Thank y’all.
Trollish AF, but I couldn’t help myself.
Hahahaha I do sound like that, don't I. Truth be told, I was working at a tier 5 firm (at most) and was earning peanuts. I got in touch with the recruiters once I came back from LL.M. Most of them have made it clear that
a) they only refer Tier 1 people to Tier 1 firms because it is sure shot that they'll get hired
b) I have lots of work on my profile and I need to narrow down to one particular aspect (which I feel like is a good kind of a problem to have at this early stage in my career).
I have an education loan which wouldn't pay itself and I don't want to be dependent on my mother. HRs don't ever seem to reply and I already have a couple of interviews lined up at some Tier 3 firms. Just wanted to give this all my best shot.
I was just holding up the mirror because that came across as a tad bit entitled. Having read your response, I am forced to review my position. :). I hope you find a suitable position! Wish you all the best!
Hey!
Hope your search bears fruits and you get a decent place to start working.

I wanted to know more about the LLM, it is a substantial expenditure and a lot of work needs to be done to pay it off, I am currently working in a tier 2 firm where I am easily able to save 35k - 40k a month. I am an A0, my family is not extremely well off, if I go for an LLM, the entirety of it will have to be paid by a loan. Is an LLM worth it? I am only talking about the top universities, I see a lot of people not being able to land a job after their LLM.
Hey!
Honestly, it totally depends on what are you trying to get out of an LL.M. Most of my batchmates who wanted to get a job in the US, already have it. Visa conversion is a whole together different issue and I won't be able to comment on that. UK might be better suited for most of the people because of the cost of tuition and their visa program (heard you can work for 2 years now post your graduation).
The program itself was fantastic. Learning from some of the best in the business, participating in courses I never thought I would (uff I can go on and on). However, remember that an LL.M is not just about academics, it is also about networking. A lot of people consider it to be their year off and try to explore the new country and culture as much as they can (this takes money and if you want to socialise with that kind of people you gotta spend the $$).
If you would be entirely dependent on a loan, I would suggest to wait for a couple of years and save more money to have the best experience of your life.
If your goal is to just land a tier 1 job in India, you can easily do it without an LL.M. (considering you are already working at a tier 2).
All the best for your future! You got this!!
