Damn. Are they hiring in this quantity from everywhere. CAM shortlisted 62 for interview, ended up hiring 47
SAM has hired after a long time, 8 offers given and 7 will be accepted ig. DayZ still ongoing. AZB Bombay has hired just 1. AZB Delhi to come tomorrow. J Sagar to come day after tomorrow. Will update on this thread when I am sure of Khaitan and Trilegal figures.
Regarding GNLU's day zero, if I'm not wrong you've requested some sort of validity or something, you even marked that post as contested. Not saying JGLS didn't achieve this at all, just pointing out the disparity.

Great news. This placement season is looking good for law students who wish to get law firm jobs.
Jiggles has a batch size of 600 or something now. Even with these numbers, placing more than 1/6th of the batch will be a challenge (obviously leaving out the litigators-by-choice and foreign LLM folks).
The Batch size including 3 year llb, bcom llb, bballb and ba llb is something like 850 now. However, for the graduating batch sitting for day 0, your estimation is correct, its around 650.
Not unless you are mad. In terms of absolute numbers, NUJS will rank just behind Jindal in number 2, with GNLU right after. NLUD doesn't even feature in the top 10, it never did.
NLUD does not even feature in the Top 10??
In percentage terms, only NLS, NALSAR and NUJS fared better on Day 0 this year (with GNLU and NLUJ almost identical). I say this only after doing the math with data secured from insiders in 7 colleges. And this is for a college that has an extraordinarily skewed UPSC and Judiciary crowd among Top tier NLUs (about 50% of the batch prior to recruitments). Like our counterparts, happy to say that everyone who wanted a job, got a job. :)
Baaki ke nobodies can continue their dick-measuring.
Doesn't NLUD teach you how to read? The original comment was about absolute numbers. That's why JGLS stands first. Otherwise they don't end up placing even 15% of their batch. NLUD places around 25-30 students every year. Regardless of the fact that it constitutes a sizable percentage of the batch, that's peanuts in terms of absolute numbers.
CAM has apparently hired close to 100 students this year from various law schools. One wonders at the level of grunt work that the firm has to account for so many. Or maybe they are just counting on the trend that at least 50 would leave within a year of joining.
Eons ago CAM (or Amarchand Mangaldas, rather) used to be a respectable law firm. Now its doing mass hiring a la Infosys in Tier 2 and Tier 3 law schools like GNLU and JGLS respectively. No value left whatsoever.
CAM might as well taking begging bowl to all law colleges to fill up the never ending atrition caused vacancies in their firm.Jindal is anyways a gold spot of recruitment for influential rich kids and CAM anyways does care for law and is only about lobbying
See, VC and Angel Funds invest in 100s of start ups in the hopes that at least one will make them money. Same thing here, just that here the metric here is pure attrition.

At this point there maybe more lawyers who were at some point part of the firm than are at the firm.

Placement Offers on Day Zero

Oscar Wilde famously observed, β€œOur ambition should be to rule ourselves, the true kingdom for each one of us; and true progress is to know more, and be more, and to do more.” It is often said, β€œSky is the limit”. However, the 103 students at Jindal Global Law School (JGLS) who secured offers from the illustrious and distinguished law firms, corporate houses, and banks of the country would have a different story to tell. For them, the sky is the beginning of the endless possibilities, exactly as it is for the Office of Career Services of Jindal Global Law School (JGLS) who toiled hard and burned the midnight oil to host various law firms, corporate houses, and banks to the campus for its Day Zero Placements a few days ago.

We express our sincere gratitude to all our esteemed patrons and recruiters for their unwavering and continued support during the testing times of the Pandemic. I congratulate the students of JGLS, whose legal education, talent, and outstanding abilities enabled them to obtain placements in such high-profile institutions. The fact that they achieved all this during the Pandemic makes their achievements even more remarkable. The ball has just been rolled for the placement process for the batch of 2023 with JGLS wrapping up the Zero Day Placement Process.

Did you get your 2 rupees for posting this? And what history did Jiggles create? That of finally managing to place more than 10% of their batch?
