This is a post from someone who after a decade of working in the legal profession (law firm life) finally stood up to their boss and threw a resignation down on the table and said "Jo Kar Na Hai, ab Kar Le".
Thank you to this generation of juniors for finally making me realise that I don't need to take abuse if I have to be a lawyer and that I don't need to be treated like a servant.
When I joined, I thought this was how it was.
But over the last three years, I have seen juniors show more moral fibre that I have ever shown in my life.
I have watched them stand up to their bosses and say that they won't take this abusive system anymore.
I have watched them leave when they didn't like it.
Watched them treat jobs the way jobs treat employees.
You are my inspiration.
I don't care if I starve.
But thanks to you all, I know that there has to be a better way.
Let my notice period finish. I will OWN this post on LinkedIn and then you can have your doubts clarified old uncle. It is people like you that have resulted in droves leaving our profession. You built a house that no one wants to live in.
