Nepotism destroys every institution. Nepotism in Judiciary is an extremely serious issue.

As of now - you need to be in Chandrachud/Lalit/Nariman/Bobde clan to become a judge. Most judges are from Senior Advocate/Former Judge's family. This must stop. Extreme nepotism is crushing India.

Even telling nepotism exists can lead to contempt cases by nepotistic HC and SC judges.

Instead of taking advocates from the bar (family connected ones) Why not exclusively make High Court and Supreme Court meritocratic.

For this, Subordinate Judiciary judges can be opportunity to be promoted as High Court and Supreme Court judges.

And stop direct elevations to high court and Supreme court.

There are two advantages,

1. Merit - Subordinate Judiciary judges in India are selected from a competetive exam. Not based on family names.

2. Higher Incentive to join Judicial Services - if a Judicial officer is able to become Supreme court and high court judges. More people will write judicial services exams making it competetive.

Subordinate Judiciary exams will become competetive like upsc.

3. WOMEN + Dalit Upliftment - there is reservation for sc/st/obc classes in Subordinate Judiciary.

In nepotistic elevation - only 4% of women become judges. In Subordinate Judiciary - even without reservation - women are 40%+ in an average intake.

Representativeness will increase.

4. No Arbitrariness - merit and representation matters. Nobody is directly taken from advocate.

Judge's will be expericed in judging than lawyering.
open your eyes to the reality ! no government would want a strong judiciary ! It would do all it can by weakening the institution. If the people were to approach the courts, how would the local politicians amass wealth in the name of settlements. Judiciary will remain weak and continue to get weakened. In fact, I have never seen a common man getting any justice from judiciary ! the institution is such that it cares the least about downtrodden ! Your case has to make headlines and then probably, there would be some interest in adjudication of your case !

The whole judiciary is a joke and no person with a decent practice would sit for an exam knowing full well that the risk of non-selection (for reasons like reservation) is higher and the judicial infrastructure is laughable. The selection process itself is a joke and people with no experience crack the exam.

if you have spine, you cannot stay in the judiciary ! There is a byzantine nexus operating to keep you under control. The trial courts barely get support from the HC judges, who are mollycoddled enough by the state government.
So you are that judicial officer. Sir, you have started lobbying too?
