From their own official social media handles it is clear that most partners are busy conducting lectures in law schools and judging moots. Very few reports about actually client advisory work.

Latest news is more partners have quit Vikas Shrivastava, JP sing, Prabjot Bhullar, Sid Neupane, Priyanka Singh, and Pallavi Bedi. That's basically tax and projects wiped out.
also, what tier does saraf and p belong to? a lot of random websites state that s&p is tier 3
It has always been a law firm and never a powerhouse. The split that you are talking can also be looked at as a mass attrition that happens in every other firm. Carving out a new firm doesn't automatically make a firm less prestigious. However, if L&L loses out on its clients and fails to get marquee deals as frequently as before it would just be a tier 2 law firm. But the point being, establishment of a new firm by the ex partners of a firm doesn't automatically diminishes its position. The future performance of firm will only tell whether it remained a tier 1 after Mr. Saraf moved out.
Very disappointed to see the consistent attrition of senior people from luthra. Now even Vikas and JP senior tax direct and indirect partners have quit. The Tax practice was set up in 2008 and was involved in many marquee deals for over a decade.. why is the firm unable to retain good senior folks.

Plus this whole fiasco with legal heirs of Vijay sondhi, it's really the last nail in the coffin..very sad to see a wonderful place to work come to this. How is any self respecting person working there and not raising their voice against this scamming of Sangeeta and ajai sondhi.
Ask any insider and they will tell you that these guys should have been retired a decade back - from the time they had stopped working. The pandemic and the dispute between EPs ironically gave them a new lease. However, you cannot be not working and raking in the mollah! Finally the tax practice has become lean and efficient. Upwards!
