Who knows? One less ad on instagram. That would be a great outcome.
Surely they'll figure something out, with their money and lobbying powers!
Jindal claims that it doesn't need the UGC any more after being an IOE. It is already offering several programmes that are illegal as per UGC norms, like the online LLM, which nobody in India outside Jindal recognises, and so on.
Didnt getting the IoE tag free them of UGC restrictions? That's how they claimed to have started this collab-LLM in the first place.
There is a catch there. The IoE status may mean that the UGC cannot penalise them for these courses. However, the UGC is not bound to recognise these degrees either, which means that the LLM may not be recognised by any other university in India for PhD or recruitment purposes. Jindal usually engages in a lot of PR, but so far it has not highlighted a single instance of their online LLM students having got any job in India (that requires LLM) or being accepted for PhD here in the last two years, which is rather suspicious.
it is not recognised. While Jindal says it has on campus class or contact classes, these are done for a few hours in a trimester (upgrad courses are run on a trimester basis). this is in clear violation of the UGC norms. even the IOE documents requires the university not to violate the norms laid down by the respective regulatory authorities.
IoE status allows universities to commence programs without seeking UGC approval.

However, it doesn’t free them from UGC per se. Therefore, were the UGC to bring in rules curtailing certain types of programs, IoE will have to comply.
UGC does not allow online LLMs. Jindal has been offering it for two years now.
You cannot use this course to further a career in academics in India.
I have seen colleges turn away SJD's because they were not PhDs.
Two of the Modi government’s top ministers have kids there, as also top IAS officers, so the regulators won’t touch Jindal.
Nor will they regularise the degree. So only JGLS will hire such people, no other university.
Don’t talk bullshit!! Upendra Baxi has an SJD, as does former NLSIU VC Mohan Gopal. Please ban this comment for misleading people!!!
What he said is still factually accurate. It doesn't matter what degree Baxi has, he's not known for it but for his scholarship.
What about the online MA in diplomacy ? Can I still do that just for CV purposes ?
