Yes, all they want is the money, even if it means fleecing the aspirants. All the vaunted social justice vision is just smokescreen. You won't find a single NLUD faculty having openly criticised this policy, even if they write pages about accessibility and affordability of legal education. Hypocrites everywhere.
Positive note - ailet gives a good chance of deserving law aspirants to prove themselves second time ,if they somehow failed to to justice with their ability in clat ( 2 hrs exam ) .It is like a second innings. One has still chance to study in top law university. Moreover the money is being spent on improving infrastructure. Even sudhir tried his best through nlat but timing was not right . His 3 yrs degree , increasing strength of 5 yrs llb are just popped out to become financially self sustained with futuristic vision
Complete misinformation and pathetic attempts to whitewash an unethical practice. Had your claim about second chance been true, then AILET would have been held after CLAT every year, with an option for students to withdraw without paying the exam fees. If NLUD joined CLAT, then the CLAT seats would also have increased. It is not as if by staying out, they are helping in extra number of students to join an NLU. As for infra, then every law school can make the same claim and hold 23 different exams. That's a rubbish claim. You are not supposed to make a profit from entrance exams for a public university. There are plenty of other ways to raise the money. As for Sudhir's effort, didn't the SC put a stop to it? Even then the latter held on to 50% of the NLAT fees in a completely unethical manner, so better not cite him as an ideal example to follow!
Why do other law schools have to remain with CLAT then? It is high time they broke away from it. Why should we be held at mercy to one exam?
That privilege is restricted to certain established NLUs. For instance, if DBRANLU decides to step out of CLAT, then it would turn out to be a catastrophic decision - almost no one would apply.
Another Varun Bhagat is needed to file a suit against NLU Delhi.

Till 2007, every NLU had its own exam. Students had to take 8 different exams for 8 NLUs. One petition from a student brought CLAT otherwise imagine taking 25 exams today.

Some student must sue NLU Delhi. Why just to make some money they conduct a separate exam for same set of students?
