Just a quick question. Would anyone happen to know if you have to mandatorily intern in your fifth year at the firm where you have been placed during zero-day placements? And do firms allow any concessions due to genuine extraneous circumstances? Help from those who have already gone through the process will be appreciated. Thanks.

Not mandatory. They mostly write that "it is expected" that you intern with us from now.
