Kind of a stupid question but, are only the M&A guys responsible for doing the DD in an M&A deal or are there other departments too? Also, how do they liaise with management consultants, investment bankers, accountants? What do the legal guys ask these professionals and how does their answer affect DD?
Not sure why there are downvotes. Will try to answer :

1. M&A team lawyers will be the primary lawyers undertaking the DD. Sometimes, depending on the size and industry, certain aspects of the DD are taken care of my separate teams. For example, employment DD might be handled by somebody from the employment team at your firm. Or if it’s a tech heavy deal, IP/TMT team would typically get involved on relevant parts of the diligence.

2. As you do the diligence, you will invariably have questions (Corp, financial etc) which are best answered by the business folks of the target or the bankers in some cases.

Hope this is useful. Good luck!
What is DD?
Demand draft?

Li's obsession with obscure abbreviations is infuriating
If you are in a position to answer the question, then you would have understood the abbreviation. Since you are not, why not just move on?
If you were an M&A lawyer, you wouldn't need to ask. If you aren't, this thread ain't for you
