Today, President Ramnath Kovind, CM Yogi Adityanath, CJI NV Ramana and other prominent leaders laid the foundation stone of UPNLU, Prayagraj (Allahabad). I'm curious to know if anyone has more information about it, as it is being built in the horizon of Allahabad Highcourt which is the largest in Asia. Any information and discussion about UPNLU will be appreciated.
Yogi Adityanath doesn't like the idea of RMLNLU, it reminds him of Previous SP govt. Even though he is chancellor of University he didn't care about attending valedictory ceremony once since he took up the top post, giving excuses of him being busy and what not while he attended stupid functions every other month in auditorium attached to RMLNLU. UPNLU will get a lot of govt. Support in 10 years it would overtake rml for sure.
This is an appeasement policy on the part of UP Govt as well as wastage of money, Instead they should use the money to do following:-
1. Build Govt Lodges on Highways between Allahabad KNP and Allahabad LKO and other major cities;
2. Just have a look at the Toll Plaza's, the Toilets are closed and broken, no management;
3. Entire Highway between Alld and KNP is rigged with almost 40+ diversions which are a threat to life of commuters.
4. Hospitals lack basic facility in Allahabad and people recently faced the problem;
5. Industries (Triveni Group) have virtually left Naini region adding to the falling economic conditions in Alld;
6. Kanpur was supposed to be the Manchester (Industrial hub); Allahabad was supposed to be Oxford (Academic hub); Lucknow was supposed to be London (Political hub); Varanasi was supposed to be Vatican (Religious hub) but instead of retaining the standards, we have degraded further down;
7. Aligarh, Deoria, Balia, Bundelkhand, Orai, Jhansi, Gorakhpur, Etawah, Kaasganj, Eta, Mainpuri, Mirzapur, Sultanpur, Fatehpur, Azamgarh, Pratapgarh, Hardoi, Unnao, Sitapur and 60+ other districts do not even have a basic law library in District Courts and proper chambers for lawyers.
8. Most of the Tribunals (DRT, CESTAT, NCLT, CAT, SAT, MSME, Dist Consumer) are non-functional due to insufficient appointments;
9. CGST and SGST Tribunal is not even established;
10. Bright and talented Youth of the State is draining away for Mumbai and New Delhi while those who are staying back are falling into depression and desperation due to lack of opportunities;
11. Women representation is still miniscule in all the Govt offices across the State;
12. Casteism was always a problem and now mis-directed nationalism coupled with victim-hood communalism has evaporated the Awadh culture completely;
13. Digitization of the Court records in the District Courts across the State is still pending;
This is not a rant against UPNLU but better stratification of priorities;
If only half of this money is spent on giving State sponsored Stipends to Interns from RML-NLU and young lawyers who decide to practice in District Courts for initial three years, so much difference it would have made.
